The deer at Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen

Hey there, welcome to my blog!
Today I want to share with you a photo I took during my visit to the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, a nature reserve near Amsterdam where you can see deer and foxes in their natural habitat. Look at this beautiful deer I spotted among thedunes!

Isn't it amazing?
The deer here are very relaxed and not shy of humans, so you can get quite close to them.
They are also very curious and sometimes follow you around. There are about 2800 deer in this area, which is the largest population of fallow deer in The Netherlands .

The Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen is also a place where Amsterdam gets its drinking water from. The water is purified by the sand andplants in the dunes .
You can learn more about this process at the visitor center, where you can also get information about the walkingtrails and guided tours.
I really enjoyed my walk in this unique landscape, where I could see not only deer but also rabbits, birds and even a fox! It was a great escapefrom the city and a chance to connect with nature.
If you ever visit Amsterdam, I highly recommend you to check out this place. You won't regret it!
